The SPI specification again double the data rate to 20 Megabytes per second for the 8-bit Narrow version and 40 Megabytes per second for the 16-bit Wide version. Although initially called Fast-20, SPI has come to be known as ULTRA-SCSI. SPI also defines an ULTRA-2 version which again doubles the rates to 40 and 80 Megabytes per second respectively.
